Udupi: Seer of Sri Pejawar Matha, Sri Vishwaprasanna Thirtha Swamiji has urged all Hindus across the nation to light lamps and offer prayers at their homes, temples, and mathas for the success of the Maha Kumbh Mela, held once every 144 years at the sacred Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.
In a public statement, the Seer described the Maha Kumbh Mela as a grand spiritual event that holds immense significance for the world. “The Kumbh Mela is the largest religious gathering in the world. Millions of devotees from across India and abroad participate with utmost faith, aiming to take a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam. It is a matter of pride for every Indian to witness such a sacred event during their lifetime,” he said.
Highlighting the scale of the event, the Swamiji noted that the 40-day-long festival involves immense efforts from countless individuals, including officials, workers, and volunteers. “An estimated 50 crore people are expected to attend the Mela. Its success is a major challenge that requires both human effort and divine blessings,” he said.
The Seer called upon Hindus to pray for the festival to proceed without any obstacles, mishaps, or challenges, ensuring peace, prosperity, and harmony throughout the nation. “Praying for the success of this sacred event is a holy duty of every Hindu,” he emphasized.
He appealed to spiritual leaders, mathadipathis, temple priests, Vedic scholars, and millions of devotees to join hands in offering prayers by lighting lamps at their homes, temples, and mathas. “Let us collectively seek divine blessings for the success of the Maha Kumbh Mela,” the Swamiji said in his statement.
