Cash amounting to Rs 7 lakh was confiscated by the police near the Udyavara checkpost. The money was being transported in two cars, and suspicions have arisen regarding its intended use for Lok Sabha election campaigning.
One of the cars was traveling from Dharmasthala to Udupi, while the other was en route from Mangaluru to Udupi.
