Udupi: ‘Pustakotsava’ sees mass footfall; books worth Rs 1.4L sold on 1st day

Udupi: The 2-day ‘Pustakotsava’ (book festival) organised at the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial College here has seen a tremendous response from students and others.
On the first day of the festival, a total of Rs Rs 1.42 lakhs worth of books were sold.
There are over 15 outlets present in the festival showcasing books ranging from fiction to competitive exams preparation.
Literary works in Kannada, English, Tulu and Konkani languages attracted the attention of the students.
A special counter for donating old books was also setup. The books collected here are to be donated to government schools.
