Udupi rains: DC declares holiday for schools, colleges on July 1

Udupi: The Udupi District Collector declared a holiday for schools and colleges on Friday, July 1.
The IMD had sounded an orange alert for the district.
The Udupi district witnessed intermittent rains that has led to inundation in many areas, inconveniencing people.
Officials in Udupi have been asked to stay alert as incessant rainfall in the past two days and warnings of more wet days ahead have triggered fears of floods.
Several low-lying areas are already flooded and areas like Kaup, Padubidri, Nandikuru are likely to face problems due to artificial flooding.
Transport services have also been affected in the district.
