Udupi: Renowned theatre artiste and singer B. Krishna Karanth passes away

Udupi: B. Krishna Karanth, a noted theatre artiste and singer, passed away on Thursday, December 12.

A retired employee of the Regional Research Centre (RRC) at MGM College, Udupi, Karanth was known for his exceptional singing talent. His music programs and cassette recordings were widely popular. Alongside his singing, he was actively involved in theatre, acting in numerous plays and lending his voice as a playback singer.

Karanth was the younger brother of the late B.V. Karanth, a legendary theatre personality. Recently, he was honored by the Rangabhoomi Udupi organization for his contributions to theatre and culture.

The family announced that the final rites will be held on the evening of December 13 after his son, who resides abroad, arrives for the last rites.
