Udupi reports 13 new cases, DK 4 cases as Covid 19 K’taka tally rises to 8697

Bengaluru: Karnataka reported 416 new cases of coronavirus, 181 discharges and nine fatalities on Saturday, June 20, the health department said.
In the last 24 hours, further 416 new cases have been confirmed taking tally of infected persons to 8697 in the state. The coronavirus-related death toll rose to 132 with nine more deaths being reported today. So far 5391 persons have been discharged.
Presently, 3170 cases are active of which 74 are admitted in ICU.
The new cases reported today includes 22 overseas travellers and 116 interstate passengers.
District wise Bengaluru reported 94 cases followed by Bidar with 73 cases. Ballari and Ramanagara reported 38 cases each; Kalaburagi -34; Mysuru – 22; Hassan – 16; Raichur – 15; Udupi -13; Haveri -12; Vijayapura -9; chikkamagaluru -8; Dharwad & Chikkaballarpur – 5 each; Dakshina Kannada, Mandya, Uttara Kannada, Kolar, Bengaluru Rural – 4 cases each; Davangere – 3; Bagalkote, Shivamogga, Gadag, Tumkuru – 2 cases each; Belagavi & Chamrajnagar one case each.
Kalaburagi tops the district in positive cases with 1160 cases followed by Bengaluru with 1076 cases. Udupi tops the district in total discharges with 953 recoveries.
In Udupi, presently 108 cases out of the total 1063 positive cases reported are active while two deaths have occurred.
In Dakshina Kannada, 209 of the 418 cases reported in district are active while eight deaths have occurred, the state health bulletin reports.
