Udupi: Senior lawyer G. Mohandas Shetty passes away at 55

Udupi mourns the loss of esteemed legal professional Notary G. Mohandas Shetty, aged 55, who breathed his last on January 13 at a private hospital in Manipal. Survived by his father, mother, wife, and daughter, Shetty leaves behind a legacy of extensive expertise in civil, criminal, revenue, and consumer litigation.

Having graduated in law from Vivekananda Law College, Puttur, in 1998, Shetty commenced his legal career as a junior lawyer in the office of Senior Advocate Ananda Shetty in Udupi from March 1998. Establishing his own office in Udupi in 2001, Shetty went on to become a legal advisor for various prominent organizations, including State Bank of India, Canara Bank, Union Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Karnataka Bank, SCDCC, and Oriental Insurance Company Ltd. He also served as a legal advisor for Guru Machideva co-operative society.

Known for his mentoring of junior lawyers, Shetty actively contributed to the legal community, holding several leadership positions within the Udupi Bar Association. His dedication to the legal profession and his impact on aspiring lawyers are reflected in the heartfelt condolences expressed by Udupi Bar Association President Reynolds Praveen Kumar, General Secretary Rajesh A.R., and former Presidents Mattaru Ratnakara Hegde, T. Vijaya Kumar Shetty, B. Nagaraj, A. Sanjeeva, G. Ashok Kumar Shetty, President of Gurumachideva Co-operative Society, Advocate H. Ananda Madiwala, and all members of the Bar Association.
