Udupi: Even though the government has allowed the opening of the temples after June 8, the Sri Krishna Mutt may not reopen from Monday.

Speaking on this Adamaru Sri Ishapriya Theertha Swamiji stated that they will wait for another 20-30 days before taking a decision on reopening the Mutt.

“There are long-held traditions in the Krishna Mutt. There is a tradition of worshipping the yati. However, with the view that no one should face any problem we will not reopen the temple on Monday,” Swamiji added.

“The daily expenses of Sri Krishna Mutt is about Rs 1 lakh. We are paying all our staff even during the lockdown. We pray to the god that the COVID-19 pandemic will be gone soon. The performance of the government and officials for the past two months has been laudable,” the Swamiji said.
