Udupi: Synthetic drugs worth Rs 14.94 lakhs seized; Delhi youth arrested

Udupi: A young man was arrested by the Internal Security Division (ISD) police officials here for allegedly trying to sell banned MDMA tablets at Shimbra near Manipal.
Police seized 498 MDMA tablets worth more than Rs 14 lakhs, a mobile phone and a bike from the arrested man identified as Himanshu Joshi (20), a student at Manipal.
Joshi was allegedly attempting to sell the tablets at a bridge in Shimbra when the police arrested him.
Superintendent of Police N Vishnuvardhan, Additional Superintendent of Police Kumarachandra, Mangaluru Internal Security Division DySP KL Ganesh, Udupi Internal Security Division Inspector Madhu PS and DySP TR Jaishankar and Manipal police Inspector Manjunatha M Gowda, Sub Inspector Rajshekhar Vandali, ISD officials Dinesh Shetty, Prasad Shetty, Manjunath Shetty, Shailesh HC, Thomson, Prasanna and Adarsh Nayak were part of the operation.
It was reported that this was the first time that synthetic drugs in tablet form were seized in the district from a student peddler.
