Udupi: Temple demolition in act of mischief, says Pejawar Swamiji

Udupi: The demolition of a temple in the Mysuru region of Karnataka on September 10 had resulted in a political furore in the state, the Karnataka Assembly had then passed the Karnataka Religious Structures (Protection) Bill, 2021 on September 21 night amid criticism from the opposition Congress party
Speaking on the temple demolition Pejawar Swamiji Sri Vishwaprasanna Teertha said that his Math has donated one lac rupees for the reconstruction of Huchchagani Mahadevamma temple, Nanjangud, which was razed to the ground.
He expressed the desire that the temple should be built again. He further questioned why such discrimination was happening in a democratic country.
“The government is hesitating to act against prayer centers that have come up by encroaching the footpaths, this clearly shows that Hindus are being oppressed,” he added.
The seer request proper laws to be enacted.
