Kochi police arrested two students from Udupi for allegedly shoplifting a puppy from a pet shop in Kerala.
The arrested Nikhil and Shreya had been caught red-handed while indulging in a similar shoplifting act in the past but managed to get away after they paid the money.
On Sunday, Nikhil and Shreya arrived at the pet shop on a two-wheeler looking to buy a cat. Later as they noticed no one was attending to them while they were looking at the various pets, they picked a puppy, and put it inside a helmet and left the shop.
The pet owner checked the CCTV footage when he realized that a puppy was missing and later lodged a complaint with the police.
The news was aired on TV news channels in which the two students are visible.
The police arrested the students and also managed to recover the stolen puppy.
