Udupi: Uncle attacks woman over property dispute; booked

Udupi: A woman was allegedly injured after her own uncle attacked her with a sickle due to a property dispute.

The victim Deepa Naik (28), a resident of Herga Garadi in Parkala, lodged a police complaint against her uncle Jagadish Naik.

Deepa got married three months ago and her husband is a soldier in the Indian armed forces. The complaint says, there was a property dispute between Jagadish and her. When the complainant was watching the land survey of a neighbor on Wednesday, the uncle attacked her with a sickle with an intent to kill her.

She also sought protection from the police for her life was in danger.

She was admitted to the Ajjarkad Government Hospital for treatment of the injuries sustained during the attack.

Meanwhile, Manipal police have registered a case in this regard and have booked Jagadish under IPC sections 354, 504, and 307.
