Udupi: UPCL fake recruitment drive unearthed

Udupi: A fake Udupi Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) recruitment scam using a fake URL of the company has been reported recently.

On August 11, a URL – https://g.co/kgs/dHyUQY – appeared in the name of the company notifying jobs for people in the age group of 18 to 35 years. It stated that BE graduates must apply with a registration fee of Rs 500 for jobs in the company with a salary between Rs 20 to 25,000.

A contact number was also mentioned in the URL.

However, in a complaint filed at the Sen police station in Udupi, UPCL’s Associate General Manager K Shashidhar stated that the URL and the recruitment drive is fake and not created by UPCL.
