The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged a large-scale protest in Udupi in response to a incident involving the shooting of a video in the toilet of a private college. Demonstrators marched from the Kadiyali BJP office to the Bannanje Superintendent of Police (SP) office to demand urgent action.
During the protest, Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna addressed the gathered crowd, “It is high time that the government takes this matter seriously. Home minister’s son’s gender transition would have been for fun whereas this issue is not a joke.”
He further emphasized the urgency of conducting a thorough investigation to identify those responsible for empowering the students to film such a video. He mentioned that a comprehensive investigation should be carried out to determine who is behind the exploitation of the students and shed light on any potential involvement of the PFI Women’s Unit.
Under the leadership of district president Kuilady Suresh Nayak, a ‘massive protest march’ started from the Udupi district BJP office. The foot march will proceed to SP’s office in Bannaje via Udupi city bus station.
