Udupi: BJP District President Kuilady Suresh Nayak alleged that the Udupi District Congress is trying to cover up the serious case of students videographing their fellow student at a college washroom in the city.
In a press release, he said that even though the civil society in Udupi was outraged due to the despicable nature of the act, Congress leaders including the former MLAs of the district are acting as if nothing has happened and are trying to divert the Udupi case by bringing the issue of Manipur incident to the fore.
The Udupi District BJP welcomes the replacement of the investigating officer in the Udupi case, he said, adding that BJP will not rest without “uprooting the social scourge of Jehadi mentality”.
Meanwhile, the police investigation into the case is continuing. Kundapur DySP, who has been appointed the investigating officer, has already obtained the complete details of the incident and has obtained the statements of the victims as well as the accused girls. Police said that more details will be known after the investigation is complete.
