Udupi: Woman succumbs to burn injuries at hospital

Udupi: The woman who sustained severe burn injuries after a fire broke out at their residence in Udupi passed away at the hospital in Manipal on Tuesday, July 16.

The deceased Ashwini Shetty (47) and her husband Ramananda Shetty (52), a bar owner were caught in the fire that engulfed their house in Gandhinagar, Ambalpadi, Udupi on Monday, July 15.

While Ramananda Shetty passed away at the hospital on Monday, Ashwini died on Tuesday without responding to the treatment.

Ashwini Shetty was the president of the Udupi BJP Mahila Morcha wing.

The deceased are survived by a son and a daughter.
