Udupi: Youth from Nepal electrocuted at a fishing unit

Kaup: A youth from Nepal died after being electrocuted in a fish pond in Kaipunjaly, Chatlikere on Wednesday, February 27.

Pathu Sahni (22) from Nepal is the deceased victim.

The victim was working at a fishing unit of Rama Poojary in Kaipunjalu since a week. He was working as per usual with two other labourers on Wednesday when he got electrocuted while attempting to switch on the pump set.

The pump set was switched off immediately by another worker who was nearby but by then, the life of the unsuspecting youth had been lost.

Kaup police were informed of the incident and the mortal remains of the victim have been shifted to Ajjarkad mortuary in Udupi.

Kaup circle inspector Mahesh Prasad, ASI Laxman B and MESCOM officials visited the location and a case in this regard has been registered with Kaup police.
