Udupi: Police have detained a youth for allegedly putting glass shards into the meal of his neighbor in Padukere under Kota police jurisdictional limits.

The accused identified as Vijendra is related to the victim, Geeta who lives opposite his residence. Vijendra would often visit the victim Geeta’s house.

As per the complaint, Geeta found glass shards in her meals on two occasions last month. She thus checked her rice containers to see if they contained any glass shards but didn’t find any. She thus became suspicious of Vijendra as he would go to the kitchen on the pretext of drinking water each time he visited her house.

Since she wanted evidence to substantiate her suspicions, she decided to record a video on her phone. Accordingly, when Vijendra came to her house on April 17, she kept her phone in recording mode in the kitchen.

When Vijendra went to the kitchen he was caught on camera mixing glass shards into the meals cooked by Geeta.

The reason for his act is not yet known and police are questioning him.
