Udupi: Youth tries to break open ATM, arrested

Udupi: A 19-year-old youth from Vijayanagara was arrested by Udupi police for attempting to break open a Canara Bank ATM at Ambagilu-Perampalli cross road.
The arrested identified as Hanumantha has been remanded to 15-day judicial custody.
A complaint in this regard was lodged by the general manager of the agency entrusted with the task of replenishing cash into Canara Bank ATMs at Mangaluru and Udupi after its employees noticed that the locker door of the ATM was open and someone had tried to break it.
A team of police personnel under guidance of SP Vishnuvardhan arrested the accused from Hagaribommanahalli taluk in Vijaynagar district
