Udyavara: Two persons arrested for stabbing pedestrians in road rage incident

Kaup: Two accused who stabbed pedestrians after an argument over a road incident were taken into custody.

The accused have been identified as Premanath and Sampath, residents of Kurkal Subhas Nagar.

The incident occurred on Wednesday night when two friends from Mathadakudru in Udyavara Jayarama Thingalaya and Sandeep were on foot, waiting to cross near Jaihind Junction opposite National Highway 66. The accused, riding on a scooter without a headlight, narrowly avoided hitting the pedestrian duo.

An argument broke out over the incident. The accused, who were allegedly inebriated, stabbed with a sharp object and injured Jayarama and Sandeep. They fled from the spot after noticing the public arriving.

Kaup police registered a case and arrested the accused. The accused dup has been produced before the court, which remanded them to 15 days judicial custody.
