Sirsi: District Congress president Bhimanna has urged the Centre and the state to sanction a super speciality hospital in Uttara Kannada district to avoid accidents like the Shiroor ambulance accident of July 20.
Addressing the media at a private hotel on Thursday he said, “The tragic ambulance accident at the Shiroor Toll Gate on Wednesday (July 20) has claimed the lives of four people. This would not have happened if the district had a super speciality hospital. This is the need of the hour, whether outskirts or in the district”.
“BJP is in power both in the state as well as the Centre. We have such tall leaders like the Karnataka Assembly Speaker Vishweshwara Hegde Kageri, MP Ananth Kumar Hegde, minister Shivaram Hebbar and many more representing the district. It is their responsibility to urge the Centre to sanction a super speciality hospital in the city”, he added.
