The robbery which occurred at the residence of businessman Padmanabha Kotyan in Permanki, last Friday, is proving to be a challenge for the Mangaluru police to crack.

Police teams, led by the city’s Crime Detection Squad, have intensified the investigation, but the robbers remain at large. Efforts are focused on locating the car used in the robbery, with all available CCTV footage from the city and its outskirts being scrutinized.

Sources indicate that the robbers executed the crime in a highly planned manner, and the possibility that they used a rental car cannot be ruled out.

Confidence in solving case soon

Police have expressed full confidence in solving the case soon, based on the leads obtained so far. They expect a clearer picture to emerge within four days.

Pressure

Nearly a week has passed since the robbery, so the police are reportedly under pressure from various quarters to solve the case.

Stolen Goods Worth Rs 9 Lakh

The robbers stabbed Padmanabha Kotyan with a knife and tied up him, his wife, and his son. They then looted valuables, including 1.5 lakh rupees in cash and gold jewelry, amounting to approximately 9 lakh rupees.
