Ullal: 13-year-old girl commits suicide over ‘dark complexion’

Ullal: A 13-year-old girl commits suicide by hanging herself in her room at Kotekar in Ullal police station limits. She was found hanging by a scarf from the ceiling of her room

The deceased has been identified as Meghashree, resident of Edneer, Kasargod. She was studying in Edneer Mutt school in Cherkala

Meghashree was staying in her uncle’s house in Kotekar for the past one month.

It is said that the case was first registered as Unnatural death and her parents were called to the police station for further inquiries. But upon an investigation of the spot, it was revealed that the room door was locked from inside

It is said that Meghashree was upset over her dark complexion and it is suspected  to be the reason for her suicide
