Ullal: Architect tells family “I’m going abroad”; jumps into sea instead

Ullal: The mortal remains of a man who had jumped into the sea were found on the Someshwar beach here on Tuesday, February 8.

The deceased has been identified as Suresh Salian(48), a resident of Kolya. He ran an architecture and planning business at Thokottu.

It is gathered that before suicide he had told his family and friends that he would be going abroad on work. On Monday, he visited his family in Kolya and told his children about his foreign trip. he had also left behind his car and jewelry for safekeeping.

Until late at night on Monday, he chatted with friends and business partners and settled the outstanding matters before he would “go abroad”.

However, thereafter, his phone was switched off. The family had filed his missing complaint at the Ullal police station.

On Tuesday, his body was found beached at Someshwar during a search operation.

Sources said that domestic disputes may have led to the suicide. It is gathered that relations between Suresh and his wife were strained due to his extramarital relationship. The matter had gone to the stage of divorce. Suresh reportedly lived separately in a rented house with another married woman at Gramachavadi.

Meanwhile, Ullal police have registered a case.
