Ullal: Contractor stabbed and robbed by rowdies – One arrested, 2 absconding

Ullal: A contractor was stabbed in the leg with a knife and robbed near Abbakka Circle under Ullal Police station limits on Friday. One of the accused was arrested and the search for two others is ongoing, police said.
The victim has been identified as Shameer (33) a resident of Ullal Mukkacherry.
Rowdysheeters Husainar, Umar Nawab, and Akbar Ullal have been named as the accused. Of the three, Husainar has been arrested, police said.
When Shameer was returning after Namaz at Ullal Dargah, Husainar hitched a ride in his car. He picked up two of his companions Umar Nawab and Akbar on the way to Abbakka Circle.
As the car was reaching Ullal’s Basti Padpu, the accused allegedly stabbed Shamir’s leg with a knife and assaulted him. When they did not get money, they robbed the car and laptop. Shamir escaped from the rowdies and came to the Ullal police station and filed a complaint.
On the directions from ACP Dhanya Nayak, the team led by Ullal Police Inspector Balakrishna conducted a quick operation and arrested Hasinar and seized the stolen car, laptop, and also the knife used in the crime.
A case has been registered in the Ullal police station.
