Cyclone Tauktae impact: Sea swallows Hindu burial ground in Someshwara; giant waves destroy houses in coastal region

Mangaluru: Torrential rains and fierce winds, influenced by Cyclone Tauktae have left a trail of destruction in the coastal region. On Friday, giant waves destroyed a  Hindu burial ground near Someshwar

The mosque located near Kileriyanagar is in danger of getting washed away by the sea.MLA S Angara also visited Someshwara and conducted an inspection

Also, in Uppunda village, giant waves have inflicted partial damage on the houses, boats of fishermen nearby.

Families living close to the sea have been warned and asked to move into the relief camps set up by the state government in the face of massive sea incursions.

Fishermen have urged the concerned officials to meet them and discuss relief measures
