The deceased has been identified as Zakir (36), a resident of Chembugudde near Thokottu. He was a fishmonger.

Zakir had gone missing on October 26. His mobile was found to be switched off.  As he could not be traced even after 10 days, his details were released on the internet.

An unidentified body, with similar clothes and build as Zakir had been found near Manjeshwar about a week ago. The body was kept at the mortuary of Magalpadi Government Hospital for a few days and was later buried at a nearby mosque.

Ashraf Harekala, the brother of the deceased said that the body will be brought to Chembugudde for burial.
