Ullal: Group led by GP member assaults social activist

Ullal: A Talapady gram panchayat member and his associates, on Tuesday, assaulted a social activist who complained of substandard work carried out, near Devipura in Talapady near here.
there were allegations that the drainage work undertaken by the gram panchayat was of poor quality. Yashu Pakala, a social activist had been to inspect the worksite, when gram panchayat member Shylesh accompanied by eight others also came to the spot. The group allegedly physically assaulted Yashu who in return also hit back.
Both, Yashu and Shylesh, were injured in the melee and are admitted to private hospitals in Natekal and Thokottu respectively.
Ullal police have registered complaints against Yashu and the group of nine headed by Shylesh and are further investigating the matter.
