Mangaluru: A man is critically wounded after being stabbed at a rented house in Ullal on Saturday.
The victim has been identified as Hamid, a native of Panjimogaru and currently residing at a rented house in Ullal. He is receiving treatment at a hospital in Mangaluru.
It is gathered that the perpetrator, Javed a famous swimmer from the Mangaluru Port area, fled the scene and is at large. Ullal police are investigating the crime and are on the lookout for the accused.
Though the motive behind the attack remains under investigation, preliminary reports suggest it could be a financial dispute.
Incidentally, Hamid’s wife Razia and daughter Fatime were also brutally stabbed to death on June 28, 2011. The case had created a huge sensation at the time. Though CID took over the case, even after 13 years, the accused in the case has still not been found.
Allegations were raised against Hamid to be the perpetrator of the double murder, but he was cleared after the police investigation.
