Ullal: Security guard found dead in storm drain under mysterious circumstances

Ullal: A security guard was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a stormwater drain near Kuttar junction under Ullal police station limits on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Ganesh Shetty (45), a resident of Kumble.

Shetty worked as a security guard at a private hospital in Deralakatte and in the evenings he took up the job of a cook at a hotel to supplement his earnings. He lived with his wife and child at a rented house in Deralakatte.

Sources said the body had signs of injuries to the head. It is yet unclear if the death is accidental. Police are investigating whether it was a hit-and-run road accident case.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered with the South Traffic police station and an investigation is underway.
