Ullal: Two held for illegal sand extraction

Based on credible information, Ullal police raided and arrested two persons from Ucchila seashore in connection with illegal sand extraction on Wednesday early morning.

The arrested are identified as Rayal D’Souza, a resident of Talapady, and Mayyadi, a resident of Kallapu near Thokkottu. Eight persons reportedly fled the scene upon seeing the police.

Apart from the arrests, police also confiscated three bikes and two lorries. The raid was conducted under the guidance DCP (Law and Order) Hariram Shankar.

A case has been filed at Ullal police station and the investigation is in progress.
