Karwar: Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker U.T. Khader demonstrated great humanity by extending financial support to transport the body of a woman, who passed away at a private hospital in Deralakate to her hometown in Karwar.
Vidya Vikram Ambig (33), the eldest daughter of Govinda T Sali a native of Bavali village in Karwar, passed away at the hospital after battling jaundice for a prolonged period.
Her family was in a dilemma as they did not have enough money to meet the hospital expenses and transport her mortal remains to their native.
When Khader came to know of their plight through the former president of the Konaje Gram Panchayat and current member Nazir Shah Pattori, he made necessary arrangements to cover the medical expenses for Vidya’s treatment and facilitated the free transportation of the deceased’s body to Karwar from the hospital using the Nammura Dhvani ambulance service.
Vidya is survived by her two young children, and her husband, who works as a laborer.
Govinda T. Sali who worked in cleaning services for the Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) battalion had been unable to go to work for the past five years due to health reasons. Though he had married off two of his four daughters, they were residing with him at a small rented house in Nadupadavu, Konaje.
Khader’s act of kindness provided the bereaved family with crucial support during this difficult time.
