Ullal: Youth dies after being struck by train

Victim was to leave for Saudi Arabia for work on Feb 14

Ullal: In a tragic incident, a young man, who was to leave for Saudi Arabia for work, died after being hit by a train on Saturday night in the Sankolige area under the jurisdiction of the Ullal police station.

The deceased has been identified as Zafar (23) who resided near anUchila railway gate. He was struck by a train while crossing the railway track to reach his home.

Zafar, who had recently arrived in the town, had obtained an employment visa for Saudi Arabia. He was to leave for the Gulf nation on February 14. However, fate dealt a cruel blow as his aspirations were cut short by the untimely accident.

Railway police have registered a case.
