A fatal stabbing occurred late Wednesday night in Saraswat Colony, situated under the jurisdiction of the Someshwar municipality.
The victim, Varun (28), a resident of Saraswat Colony, was killed in the incident. The police suspect that Suraj, a local resident, is responsible for the crime.
The altercation ensued when Varun questioned Suraj and two others who were consuming alcohol near Kolya Joyland School late at night. The disagreement escalated, leading to a confrontation between five individuals, culminating in Suraj and Varun engaging in a fatal altercation, resulting in Varun being stabbed in the heart.
Authorities are exploring the possibility that the incident may be rooted in an old feud, potentially fueled by local politics, as the municipal elections in Someshwar are scheduled for the 27, with the nomination deadline fast approaching.
Sources indicate that Raviraj, a former member of the Someshwar Former GP member, sustained injuries in the altercation. Police are actively investigating the matter.
