Ullal’s notorious ‘Target Group’ chief arrested

Ullal: Police have arrested two persons of the notorious ‘target group’ who were wanted in several cases.

The arrested persons have been identified as Surmo Imran and Ilyas from here. Ilyas is  said to be the kingpin of the racket while  Imran is his accomplice.

Acting on a tip off, police arrested Imran from Mumbai. A team from the Anti-Rowdy Squad of Mangaluru South Sub-Division raided  the Wood Land Guest House near Dadar Railway Station in Mumbai and arrested him.

After getting information that Illyas was staying in a flat near Kudupady mosque at Jeppu in the city, the squad raided and took him into custody.

Illyas is an accused in an attempt to murder case at Dawood from Ullal. He went missing ever since then. As per information, he faces about 25 cases related to murder attempt, robbery and robbery attempt in various police stations including Padubidri in Udupi district.

The accused have been produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
