Unaware of modified order, students visit schools for teacher consultations

Bengaluru: The state government on Sunday revised its previous order on allowing students to visit schools from September 21 citing the rising coronavirus cases in Karnataka.
Unaware of this change, several students were seen flocking to schools to consult teachers for clarifying their doubts.
Earlier as part of the Unlock 4 guidelines, the state government had permitted students from class 9-12 to visit schools, with the prior permission of their parents, to consult teachers on academic matters.
The schools too had made adequate preparations in this matter. However, schools were unable to convey the modification in the order to the students since it was issued towards the last minute.
Due to this confusion, students had arrived at school and the faculty held discussions with them, informed a principal of a private school in Bengaluru.
Meanwhile, the private school management association also raised the issue of the Vidyagama programme.
It has been alleged that the government is trying to get more student admissions in government schools by continuing Vidyagama programme while imposing restrictions on private schools.
