Sullia: An undertrial prisoner managed to hoodwink and escape from the custody of the police after his court hearing here on Friday, September 14.

The undertrial, Aziz bin Mohammed (25) was produced before the JMFC Court in Sullia today morning in connection to an old theft case. On the way back to Hosadurga jail, Aziz is said to have asked to use the washroom at the Sullia bus stand.

Reportedly, one of the police personnel accompanied Aziz to the washroom, but Aziz managed to overpower him and escape from the spot by scaling the compound wall of the bus stand.

It is learnt that the Hosadurga police had arrested Aziz recently for his involvement in a murder case at Kasargod.
