Undertrial prisoner dies in hospital

Krishnagar (WB): A 38-year-old undertrial prisoner, who was lodged with the Correctional Home here, died in a hospital due to illness, the Home sources said today.
Pradip Bandopadhyay, arrested on March 16 in connection with a criminal case, fell ill and was admitted to the Shaktinagar hospital a few days ago.
As his condition deteriorated, he was referred to the Kalyani JNM hospital. But he died there yesterday. He was suffering from asthma, the sources said.
Bandopadhyay was a resident of Anulia under Ranaghat police station area in Nadia district.
