Mangaluru: An unidentified vehicle mowed down a pedestrian near Nanthoor on Tuesday afternoon. The deceased has been identified as Rajesh Karkera (32), a resident of Nanthoor Padav.
Rajesh Karkera was walking along the road near Nanthoor when around 1:05pm, an unidentified vehicle hit him and sped off.
The impact of the accident was such that Rajesh was thrown to the road and sustained grievous head injuries and died on the spot.
Rajesh Karkera has previously worked as a home guard. Traffic police have registered a hit and run case.
