Mangaluru: “The union government has not released any grant for flood relief in the state. An all-party meeting is not being called to discuss this matter. Though there are 25 BJP MPs of the state in the union government, they are not shouldering their responsibility in this respect. Chief Minister (CM) Yediyurappa is being insulted in Delhi. We are with the CM in the matter of getting funds for flood relief work from the centre,” said MLA U T Khader at a press conference on Saturday, September 29.

“Instead of getting funds from the central government for flood relief operations, the state government is using the funds meant for labour welfare, which amounts to cheating of labour class,” he alleged.

Khader responded to a query regarding the development of the district and said, “MP Nalin Kumar should call for a meeting of people’s representatives and officers of the district and hold discussion on the development of Dakshina Kannada district. I am not an aspirant for the post of president of DCC.”

Mall assault case

Responding to a query about the recent assault incident that occurred at a mall in the city and the subsequent provocative messages that are being spread on social media, MLA Khader said, “Police officers have to inform the public about what really happened that led to this assault and provide justice. There should not be any opportunity for chaos and confusion.”
