Union Govt to release an order on proposed IIT at Raichur soon: Minister

New Delhi/Bengaluru:  The Union Government is expected to release an order within a week on the proposed Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) which will be established in Raichur, said  Karnataka State Minister for Higher Education Basavaraj Rayareddy after a meeting with  Union Minister for Human Resources Development  Prakash Javedkar on Friday in the national capital. 

The Union Minister has also agreed in the meeting to name Central University in Kalburgi after Dr BR Ambedkar and to establish a new central university in Mysuru. Javedkar has also agreed to exempt Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) located in Belagavi from income tax.
