Kalaburagi: Setting a unique example, the headmaster of a government school in Akkalakote Taluk took 35 girl students to Delhi via aeroplane.
The initiative of principal Mahantheshwar Kattimani of Kannada Primary Girls’ School at Maindargi has received commendation for providing a unique and educational experience for the students who otherwise are taken on tours via train or bus.
Notably, this is the fifth instance when Kattimani organized such an excursion for students. Previously, he organised a tour for students from Solapur district’s Jevur and Gaudgaonv government Kannada schools.
The principal contributed nearly Rs 2 lakh towards the expenses of the tour from his own pocket while the children’s parents paid around Rs 7,000 each for the 7-day trip.
During their visit, the students explored various attractions in Mumbai, including the Gateway of India, museums, and parks. From Mumbai, they traveled to Delhi and visited landmarks such as the Red Fort, Raj Ghat, and Parliament House.
