Mysuru: The Mysore University Research Scholars’ Association has recommended to the government to appoint a full-time Vice-Chancellor for the University of Mysore (UoM). The association demanded the government to appoint a full time V-C for the efficient functioning of the varsity. Association President Mahadevaswamy said that when the previous government did not appoint a full time V-C, it resulted in many administrative and academic decisions being stalled.
The term of the fourth in-charge V-C Ningamma C. Betsur as the Dean of Education Faculty ends on May 26. The UoM also said that it did not have a full-fledged V-C for 15 months, ever since the tenure of the earlier V-C ended in January 2017. The University has sent a list of five deans of various faculties to the Governor’s office to seek approval and appointment.
