- Operation Kamala: BJP test in vain
Mangaluru: “BJP plays test match. We play one day matches and win,” said district in-charge minister U T Khader in reaction to BJP’s ‘Operation Kamala’.
Speaking at a press conference, Mr Khader said, “BJP’s all attempts are in vain. There is no fear for the existence of the state government. When as many as 150 taluks are drought hit and preparations are going on for budget, what are the MLA’s doing at a resort when they should be the voice for the people’s problems?” he asked.
“Could not control four corporators during BBMP elections. How can they think about controlling 15 MLAs?” he joked.
Ready for any sacrifice
To a question on what if the party elders ask to sacrifice ministerial berth to satisfy the unsatisfied in the party the minister replied that no such proposal had come. My name and authority is due to Congress and hence I am ready to do ay sacrifice for the party. Even if I am threatened with hanging, I will not leave Congress and go, he affirmed.
Rs 58 crore released
In connection to the natural disaster in Dakshina Kannada district, an additional Rs 58 crores has been sanctioned. Every Assembly Constituency has been provided with Rs 6 crore, informed the minister.
Pre-budget meeting
In connection to the budget, a pre-budgetary meeting has been conducted in the district, several demands have been put forth in the meeting and the decision taken after discussion will be submitted to the chief minister. A pre-budgetary meeting will be conducted by the CM with various departments and during this occasion discussions will be held regarding the demands of the district pot which the final decision will be taken, explained Mr Khader.
