Deoria: A video of Congress leaders manhandling a woman party worker, allegedly for questioning party decision to nominate a rape accused as the party candidate from Uttar Pradesh’s Deoria, has gone viral on social media.
The woman, Tara Yadav took objection to the nomination of Mukund Bhaskar for upcoming by-polls, , saying he is a accused in a rape case.
In the video, party workers are seen punching and pushing Tara Devi until few others come to her rescue.
“On one hand, our party leaders are fighting for justice for Hathras case victim, and on the other hand, party ticket is being given to a rapist. It is a wrong decision. It will malign the image of our party,” Tara Yadav was quoted speaking to ANI.
Now, I’m waiting for Priyanka Gandhi ji to take action, she added.
She filed a police complaint against Congress district president Dharmendra Singh, vice president Ajay Singh and two others for the attack
There were allegations that Tara Devi — who came to the meet with three other women party workers — threw a bouquet at the party’s national secretary Sachin Nayak. Soon a fight started during which the woman was hit.
