UP principal hangs Class 2 student upside down as ‘punishment’, arrested

The principal of a private school in Uttar Pradesh was arrested for allegedly dangling a Class 2 student upside down from the balcony of the school building.
An image of the incident which has gone viral on social media shows the principal of Sadhbhavna School at Ahiraura in the district, identified as Manoj Vishwakarma dangling the boy from the first floor of the school building in order to teach him a lesson in front of other students.
The shocking punishment was meted out to the student for being “naughty while eating”.
Upon reaching home, the boy narrated the incident to his father, who then lodged a complaint with the education officials and the police.
Taking cognizance of the incident, District magistrate Praveen Kumar Laxkar has directed Basic Shiksha Adhikari to probe the matter.
