Uppinangady: Fake gold pledged to avail loan; FIR filed

Uppinangady: A case has been registered at Uppinangady police station against two persons for allegedly procuring a Rs 1.40 lakh loan from a women’s cooperative society by pledging fake gold ornaments.

The accused have been named Sebastian and Danish of Nelyadi village.

A complaint in this regard was lodged by Chaitanya C.H., General Manager, Kamadhenu Mahila Sahakari Sangha, Nelyadi.

According to the complaint, the accused had come to the society on January 27 afternoon and cheated the staff by mortgaging four fake bangles weighing 30 grams in the society to obtain a loan of Rs 1.40 lakh.
