Uppinangady: Gang abducts brothers, keeps younger brother hostage for ransom

Uppinangady: A case has been registered at the Uppinangady police station here about the kidnapping and holding hostage of two brothers for ransom. of the hostages, the elder brother was let off who later filed a police complaint.
The complainant, Nizamuddin of K C Farm in Koyla said that Siddique of JCB Karuvelu, Irshad of Matha, Shafi of Gadiyara, Ansar of Kemmara, and others kidnapped him and his brother Sharukh. They were holding his younger brother hostage.
According to the complaint, Sharukh was employed abroad and had recently returned home.
On Thursday, Nizamuddin was called for a work assignment by his acquaintance Siddique. He was picked up from Gandhi Park in the car of Ansar on which the other accused were already seated and drove towards Perne. On the way, another person got into the car.
Nizamuddin said he was taken to a house in Mallur where he was assaulted by the accused and other strangers. they inquired about his brother Sharukh’s whereabouts. They snatched his mobile phone and dialed Sharukh and called him to come to the Kadambu area.
They picked up Shahrukh and his friend Faizal, and brought them to the house in Mallur. The gang assaulted Sharukh and demanded to be paid Rs 4 lakhs for their release.
Nizamuddin said he and Faizal were let off to bring the ransom money demanded. The gang is allegedly keeping Shahrukh hostage until the ransom money is paid.
Nizamuddin, after reaching home, informed his mother about the incident and got admitted to a private hospital. He filed an FIR about the incident on January 20 at the Uppinangady police station.
Police have taken the incident seriously. An investigation is underway to trace and free the hostage.
