A brazen robbery occurred on the streets of Uppinangady where a man snatched a gold chain from an elderly man.
Gangadhar Tailor, a 70-year-old resident of Uppinangady Kote, fell victim to the crime. Tailor was en route to a local hotel around 7:30 AM when he encountered an unfamiliar young man during his walk.
Engaging in conversation, Tailor was entirely unaware that this stranger was surreptitiously pilfering a gold chain weighing 14 grams from around his neck.
The thief, using deception, cunningly persuaded Tailor to proceed to a nearby bank and stole the chain.
A case has been registered.
