Uppinangady: Crocodiles spotted near Panjala; Locals worried

Uppinangady: Locals here raised concerns after a few crocodiles were spotted in the Netravathi river at Panjala.

Locals reported having seen three crocodiles in the Netravati River on the Mangalore-Bangalore National Highway side in Panjala here.

The reptiles were spotted near a petrol station in Panjala. By mid-afternoon, they were seen roaming on a scrubby sand dune in the middle of the river, eyewitness Siddique Koppal told media.

He said that one crocodile was of a large size, while the other two were smaller in size.
